Tisa

In Swahili, the name Tisa quite literally means “ninth-born”, but it can also mean “bring”.  However, the chances of Tisa bringing you anything are around  zero!  If any lion were to take Toka’s award for laziest lion in Livingstone, it would be his daughter Tisa!  Daughter of Nyika and Toka, and sister to Tula and Tanaka, Tisa is a very sweet and friendly lion.  She enjoys lion and human company.  As a young cub, Tisa would refuse to walk- anywhere!  Handlers sometimes had to carry her around the Mosi-Oa-Tunya bush showing her the sights and sounds of her home! It’s unsurprising then to discover Tisa is a very calm lion who is happy to share her food.  Anything for a quiet life!
