Songwe

Son of Subi and Toka, and brother to Sadiki, Sekani and Sarabi,  Songwe was named after the Songwe Gorge in Zambia, in the Livingstone area and close to Victoria Falls.  Songwe certainly has his parents good looks.  He also has patience and tolerance, by the bucket-load, which is perhaps as well considering he was out-numbered by his three feisty sisters in his early years.  Songwe now shares his enclosure with his three sisters, half-sister Nuru, and half-brothers Nacha, Nalo and Ndulu.  Perhaps grateful for some male solidarity, Songwe remains a calm and confident presence in this pride.
