Sekulu

The name Sekulu comes from the Tumbuka tribe and means “grandfather”.  Son of Subi and Toka, and brother to Samaya, Safiya and Saba, this gentle giant enjoys the company of his sisters.  He shares his enclosure with his three sisters but also his half-sisters, Tula, Tisa and Tanaka.  Sekulu is a very friendly lion who enjoys human and lion company.  He’s always keen to come to the fence for a head scratch, and has learned to rule his pride with the calm acceptance that sometimes the girls will boss him about!
