Rusha

This matriarch of the Dambwa pride was named after a northern tribe in Zambia.  Having given birth to the Dambwa pride’s first litter of cubs Rusha is the most dominant and the largest female member of the Dambwa pride. She is usually the first one to feed and generally enjoys the ‘lion’s share’. The social glue of the pride, Rusha is an attentive mother with a strong bond with her offspring, and with the other lions. She is often found grooming her children, which they don’t mind one bit!
