Livingstone Lions is committed to safeguarding the lions’ long-term protection and wellbeing. With your help, we aim to provide them with food and medical care, allowing them to live out the rest of their lives in comfort. It’s what they deserve.
It costs around GB£40 / US$50 per month to feed and care for an adult lion. When you adopt a lion, your money is used to literally put food into that lion’s mouth.
It’s that simple.
How Can I Help?

There are three levels of adoption:
Single Lion Adoption
Cost: £40 per month ($50 USD).
Under this option, you are the sole adopter of your chosen lion. Your sponsorship money goes directly to that lion’s food and care.
Joint Lion Adoption
Cost: £20 per month ($25 USD)
You can team up with another adopter yourself, or we will team you up with another willing sponsor, and you share the cost of food and care for your chosen lion. Your £20 ($25 USD) contribution each, goes directly to food and care.
Group Adoption
Cost: £8 per month ($10 USD)
You can team up with your friends and family, or we will team you up with other adopters under this option, and bring you together to cover the food and care of your chosen lion. Your collective £40 ($50 USD) donation goes directly to food and care.
One-Off Donation
We’re also very grateful for donations to help us with the unavoidable costs of running the sanctuary. This includes veterinary bills, vehicle maintenance and fuel costs (for meat collection from local farmers), as well as providing a modest wage for the dedicated team of local staff who are working under challenging conditions to keep the lions safe and well. Terms and Conditions
Adopting a lion does not include any rights of ownership or decision making over the future of that lion. If your adopted lion dies or has to be euthanised, you’ll be offered the option to cancel your adoption or to adopt another lion. We’re unable to provide refunds for payments already made

What Will I Get?
It’s easier to say what you won’t get! You won’t get a cuddly toy, or a glossy framed photo, or even a bumper sticker for your car. All these things cost money to a charity. We’re sure you’d prefer that 100% of your donation is used to take care of your adopted lion. And that’s what we do.
What you will get is a sponsor certificate and information sheet about your lion via email when you sign up. Your ongoing support is important to us, so we’ll keep in touch with monthly updates about your lion, including photographs and video clips. Again, this will be via email to save us from spending your money!
You’ll also get that warm fuzzy feeling that you have when you’ve done something good. And, let’s face it, we all like that feeling.
